When used on the skin, the doTERRA lavender essential oil soothes skin irritations and helps skin recover quickly. It is also used to ease tension in the head and neck. You can apply it to the temples, forehead, and tensed muscles. I particularly like to apply it on my and the kids’ feet as a bedtime routine. A feeling of relaxation spreads all over the body as you apply it, preparing your tired body for sleep. For topical use, apply up to two drops to the desired area. Using a carrier oil can help minimize skin sensitivities.

When used in food and for all internal use, it is recommended that you dilute one drop of the oil in 4 fl. oz. of liquid. It helps smooth the tartness of citrus-based foods. A spray bottle has become a staple in my house as I often use it as an air freshener to compact staleness in living spaces and bedrooms. A refreshing spray with water and a few drops of doTERRA lavender oil is a must for all linens in my house. There are other brands of lavender oil on the market, but few have quite as many uses or have quite the same effect.
